Unkoku Tōgan

Unkoku Tōgan was an artist whose active career spanned the years 1547 to 1605. Documentation of Tōgan’s production primarily consists of paintings focused on Buddhist figures, portraiture, and landscape.

Eight paintings attributed to Unkoku Tōgan are currently documented in major American institutions, establishing the verifiable historical significance of the artist’s output.
