Paul Androuet Ducerceau

Paul Androuet Ducerceau was an artist documented as active in 1665, working primarily in the medium of printmaking. His known output consists of detailed decorative or ornamental series, typical of 17th-century design.

Six Paul Androuet Ducerceau prints are represented in institutional holdings, establishing his presence within the period. All six known works are preserved in the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection. These works include the five documented plates that comprise the Series of Small Flower Motifs (Plates 1 through 5). This series highlights the artist’s focus on small-scale, intricate floral designs intended for practical or decorative application.

Given the chronological age of his output, these historical works often reside in the public domain, allowing high-quality prints and downloadable artwork to be utilized for scholarly reference and research.
