Maurice Delcourt

Maurice Delcourt was an artist known primarily for his work in printmaking, active during the period spanning 1890 to 1905. Over his documented career, Delcourt produced a range of subjects focusing on figure studies, portraits, and scenes of craft.

Although details regarding the artist’s full output remain sparse, at least eight Maurice Delcourt prints are represented in major international collections. These works, which include the figure study Staande vrouw met hoed en uitgestoken arm and the studio depiction L'Atelier de composition typographique, establish the museum-quality historical value of his graphic output. His works are held by prestigious institutions including the Rijksmuseum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the National Gallery of Art.

Other documented compositions include the unsettling figure Dood als skelet met kleding aan and multiple versions of Etude pour un portrait. Due to the age of the artist’s active period in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, much of this work is now widely available in the public domain for research and study.
