Master AD

Master AD was a graphic artist active across the majority of the sixteenth century, with documented production dates spanning 1519 to 1600. Operating exclusively in the medium of prints, the artist specialized in highly focused subject matter related to decorative design.

Fifteen works attributed to Master AD are represented in museum collections, confirming the artist’s historical significance within the study of sixteenth-century graphic arts. The documented pieces include several examples identified specifically as Ornament. These Master AD prints are preserved in institutional collections, most notably at the National Gallery of Art.
