Manufacture Oud-Loosdrecht
Manufacture Oud-Loosdrecht was a manufacturing entity active for a concentrated period between 1774 and 1782. The output documented in museum collections indicates a specialization in fine decorative tableware and porcelain services intended for domestic use.
The factory's representative body of work includes several ceramic sets, such as Tea service, Delen van een theeservies, and the specialized Tea service for two people (tête-à-tête). Further examples of their decorative output are exemplified by Delen van een koffie- en theeservies and Twee ovale platen met figuren en vee in een rivierlandschap.
A total of seven documented works, including five ceramic pieces and two Manufacture Oud-Loosdrecht prints, are represented in museum holdings. Crucially, the Rijksmuseum preserves examples of the factory’s production, establishing their historical significance in eighteenth-century European decorative arts. Today, artifacts from this period, recognized for their museum-quality craftsmanship, are increasingly accessible via the public domain.
