Louis Charles Hora Siccama

Louis Charles Hora Siccama was an artist active between 1817 and 1869, working primarily in drawing and printmaking. His documented output establishes him as a practitioner of landscape and genre studies during the 19th century. A substantial portion of his extant work is preserved in the collections of the Rijksmuseum, validating his place among documented historical artists.

The documented body of work consists of six pieces, divided between four drawings and two prints. Subject matter ranges from intimate rural scenes, such as Koe en een ezel bij een hek and the study Vrouw op een bank in een landschap, to architectural and cavalry subjects. Examples of these include the architectural study Kasteel van Sévérac and the landscape depiction Cavalerie in een bos, along with Twee ruiters op een bomenlaan. These pieces demonstrate a consistent focus on detail and observational rendering.

Many of these preserved Louis Charles Hora Siccama prints and drawings are now securely placed in the public domain. This institutional archiving ensures that these historical works are accessible as downloadable artwork, allowing researchers and the general public access to museum-quality imagery for study and appreciation.
