Jan Christoffel Jegher

Jan Christoffel Jegher was a graphic artist active between 1628 and 1649. His documented professional output centered entirely on printmaking, spanning a period of at least two decades.

The surviving works attributed to Jegher frequently focus on thematic and narrative series. Six of his prints are documented in institutional collections, often exploring cycles of life and morality. Examples of this thematic focus include the sequence of works titled Kindertijd, De jeugd, De kindertijd, and De ouderdom. He also produced complex compositions such as Alfabet in een omlijsting met voorstellingen uit het Oude Testament, suggesting proficiency in illustrative and detailed engraving.
