Gustav Lüderitz was a graphic artist whose documented activity spanned the years 1813 to 1826. His known output consists primarily of prints, focusing heavily on portraiture from the early 19th century.

Nine examples of Gustav Lüderitz prints are preserved in museum collections, confirming his focus on biographical and historical subjects. A significant part of his catalog includes the series known as Germany's Famous Authors, which comprises individual portraits such as Portrait of Chrisoph August Tiedge, Portrait of Christopher Martin Wieland, and Portrait of Johann Elert Bode. Another notable portrait is Portret van Marie prinses van Pruisen.

The historical and artistic importance of Lüderitz’s work is demonstrated by its inclusion in major international institutions, including the Rijksmuseum and the Cleveland Museum of Art.
