George Robin

George Robin was active between 1935 and 1937, primarily contributing to the Index of American Design. This federal art project was dedicated to documenting and preserving visual records of historical American decorative arts and folk designs. Robin's output focused on detailed records of textiles and surface design, reflecting the rigorous documentation standards of the Index.

Nine works created by George Robin are represented in institutional holdings. Specific documented titles include the studies of functional design, such as Child's Dress, along with multiple instances of surface pattern renderings titled Wallpaper Border and Wall Paper.

These historically significant records are included in the collection of the National Gallery of Art. Today, much of this documentation, including George Robin prints, falls under the public domain, supporting the continued academic study of American decorative history and making available high-quality prints for researchers and enthusiasts.
