François-Joseph-Hubert Ponscarme

François-Joseph-Hubert Ponscarme was an artist active across the latter half of the nineteenth century, working primarily between 1866 and 1902. Known primarily for his work in metal, eleven examples of his metalworks are documented in major museum holdings, establishing his position within the period’s sculptural and commemorative arts.

The collected works of Ponscarme include various historical and portrait subjects. Among his notable pieces are the detailed relief Napoleon III on Horseback, Inaugurating the Boulevard de Strasbourg, and a compelling Self Portrait.
