Félix Guichert
Félix Guichert was an artist active around 1900 whose specialized output focused on technical illustration and preparatory studies. The known works of Guichert center on detailed textile analysis, consisting of schematic drawings documenting historical fabric patterns.
Five of Guichert’s drawings are represented in museum collections, all preserved by the Cleveland Museum of Art. These specialized works include multiple examples of Schematic Drawing of Buyid Silk and Schematic Drawings of Buyid Silk. Although the artist is known for drawings rather than Félix Guichert prints or paintings, the technical detail makes them valuable for scholarly study. Because of the historical nature of his active period, materials related to Guichert often enter the public domain, allowing for the creation of museum-quality reproductions for researchers.
