Arthur Zaidenberg

Arthur Zaidenberg was an artist whose documented activity spans the years 1935 to 1936. His output during this short period focused heavily on the meticulous illustration and study of historical American material culture and decorative arts.

Fifteen index designs attributed to Zaidenberg are represented in museum collections, providing detailed visual records of various domestic objects. These works include precise renderings of items such as Glass Bottle, Ladle, Pewter Porringer, Chamber Lamp, and Grandfather Clock. This body of work is preserved and held in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Art, establishing its critical value as documentation.

The surviving Arthur Zaidenberg prints are considered important historical documents illustrating early American craftsmanship. These detailed studies are today valued as high-quality documentation of historical design. As these institutional holdings transition further into the public domain, they ensure continued access for scholars studying the history of American design and craftwork.
