Antonius Wierix

Antonius Wierix was a printmaker active between 1553 and 1617. His output primarily consists of engravings dealing with religious and allegorical subjects, situating his career across the late 16th and early 17th centuries.

Wierix's work is held in major international collections, establishing his legacy as a significant graphic artist of the era. Eight of his Antonius Wierix prints are represented in museum holdings, including important examples preserved at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The prints held in collections showcase Wierix's detailed approach to devotional imagery and narrative.
