A. Goedkoop was an artist whose documented career spanned the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, with known activity dates ranging from 1850 to 1921. The surviving body of work attributed to Goedkoop consists primarily of detailed drawings, often focusing on topographical views and specific urban landmarks.

Although further contextual information regarding artistic movements is sparse, five drawings by Goedkoop are currently represented in institutional collections, establishing their credibility as a chronicler of the period. All documented works are held in the collections of the Rijksmuseum.

The artist specialized in renderings of waterways, bridges, and identifiable architecture.

As their activity ceased in the early 1920s, A. Goedkoop’s work is now generally considered to be in the public domain. These historical drawings are frequently sought after, and many are available today as high-quality prints. The original drawings held by the Rijksmuseum provide a basis for museum-quality reproductions prized for their historical detail.
